Drug Uses
Lipitor is taken as a supplement with diets and helps to reduce production cholesterol and different fatty substances in your body. Lipitor cleans blood vessels from cholesterol and fatties thus enabling better blood flow. In result organs of your body receive more oxygen. Lipitor also prevents heart diseases and attacks, strokes and chest pains.

How Taken
Take Lipitor tablets at the same once a day with or without meal. Sometimes patients start with low doses and increase it gradually thus determining the most suitable dosage and personal reaction to it. Always finish taking you full course even if your general state of health improves. 

Warnings/Precautions
Make your doctor aware if you have allergies to any components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy. Stop taking Lipitor if you suspect pregnancy. Never take Lipitor if you are breast feeding as Lipitor component penetrate into milk. Your dosage should be adjusted if you ever had a heart attack, stroke, liver diseases. Tell your doctor if you are already taking other dietary supplements, herbal meds or any other meds.

Missed Dose
If you happen to miss a dose compensate it at once when you remember. If it is already time for your next dose simply continue your taking schedule. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. Never double your dose.

Possible Side Effects
Among possible negative side effects of Lipitor are- diarrhea, gas, stomach pain, dizziness, constipation, headache and upset stomach. Usually these side effects ease off in couple of hours. Contact your doctor if these symptoms do not go away or severe. Try to find medical help if you feel muscle pain, cramps or weakness in any case with or without a fever.

Storage
The medication should be stored away from heat, moisture and light at room temperature, between 59 – 86 °F (15 – 30 °C). Keep it away from children.

Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately.

More Information
Avoid combining Lipitor with alcohol as it will worsen side effects and damage your liver. Also never mix Lipitor with grapefruit juice as it may arouse negative side effects. Consult your doctor if you are using hormonal contraceptives.
